We are pleased to invite you to our International Workshop on ‘Just Energy Transition: The Role of Latin America and its Relationship with East and Southeast Asia.’ The workshop aims to delve into the intricate dynamics of the energy transition and its impact on Latin America and East Asia, exploring critical themes such as resource governance, global value chains, and energy transition pathways in the Global South.

With recent policy shifts regarding the export of critical minerals, the strategic competition between the U.S. and China has intensified, affecting both developed and developing countries. Additionally, disruptions in global supply chains of raw materials and the urgency of the climate crisis have created a new international division of labor.
During the workshop, we will explore key questions, including:
We invite researchers, academics, policymakers, and practitioners to contribute to this discussion and present their insights on the abovementioned critical themes. The workshop will encompass five panels, each dedicated to examining specific aspects of the energy transition and Latin America-Asia relations.
